Scrolling through a hashtag along the lines of miamimakers, the organic yet utilitarian work of @nima.made came up. There were fun, hand-carved spoons and bowls, big shelving units and farm tables, some large, abstract sculpture. As soon as we hit follow, he reached out about the semblance of the names Nima and Mima and we made plans to visit his Morningside studio.
Nima has a way of carving practical objects into attractive works of art. His spoons, spatulas, and cutting boards are made to last a lifetime-- the timeless shapes made out of sturdy, marine-grade wood. In addition to kitchen tools, he does laser printing and larger projects like tables, doors, and sculpture.
