About this Event

Join us for Cultural Encounters as we explore cultural traditions that are “so Miami.” Meet the artisans and experts whose crafts, skills, and services make Miami, Miami during these intimate, unique experiences. Presented by the museum’s South Florida Folklife Center.

Susan Cartiglia, the Kombucha Queen of Radiate Miami, leads this virtual kombucha tasting and making class. During this guided experience, you’ll explore the art and science of fermentation, taste a variety of kombucha flavors, and experiment with your own recipe. You’ll also learn about the makers movement in Miami from the founders of artisanal shop Mima Market with the mission to educate and connect our community around what is handmade, sustainable, and local. A class kit is included with your ticket price and features samples of different Radiate Kombucha flavors, as well as a make-your-own kombucha kit.

Class kits are available for pick-up at Mima Market (9725 NE 2nd Ave, Miami Shores, FL) Monday through Saturday from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and Fridays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. For delivery service (not included in ticket price), please contact Mima Market at 305-751-4300.
